Watch the Sun Set at the Temple of Poseidon

This temple sits above the beach on a mountain that juts out into the ocean. It was dedicated to Poseidon, the God of the Sea, one of the twelve Olympians in ancient Greek religion and myth. In ancient times, the temple was the last sign of civilization the Athenians saw as they sailed away from home and the first sign of civilization as they returned. It is the perfect setting for an ancient temple, especially one dedicated to the God of the Sea.
