Tour the Hobbiton Movie Set

When location scouts discovered the 1,250 acre, Alexander sheep farm, they realized the Hobbits had found their “movie home”. The area was surprisingly similar to JRR Tolkien’s description of The Shire. When filming The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, Hobbiton was built into a permanent movie set that includes forty four, detailed Hobbit Holes and the Green Dragon Inn, all nestled within a fully, operational farm.

After exploring the movie magic of Hobbiton on a two hour, fully guided, outdoor walking tour, you can sit by a roaring fire and drink ale or non-alcoholic ginger beer and eat a range of traditional hobbit fare food, all exclusive to the Green Dragon Inn.
