Torpedo Factory Art Museum

If you’re into art, especially by local artists, you’ll want to journey to Old Town Alexandria for a look around the Torpedo Factory Art Center. In 1974, an old, naval munitions factory was converted into an art center. It has three floors packed with 82 working art studios and six art galleries. More than 160 local artists will be hard at work on their latest creations while you’re visiting. This is a rare opportunity to see artwork in progress, meet and interact with the artists themselves and peruse the art they have on display and for sale. The Torpedo Factory Art Center is also home to The Art League School and the Alexandria Archaeology Museum. The Torpedo Factory Art Center is open to the public most days from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
