Shop at the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

Shop at the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

This is one of the largest floating markets in Thailand. It is such an iconic location that it was even used for some of the scenes filmed in The Man With the Golden Gun, a James Bond movie made in 1974.

One of the most exciting ways to experience the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is to hire a longtail boat. Travel back in time as you leisurely float your way through the market and past friendly vendors hawking their goods from boats all crowded together along the canals. You will glide from boat to boat trying to find the best deals of the day on handmade souvenirs and exotic fruits like mangosteen, dragon fruit, guava and lychee. There are even authentic Thai meals and sweets for sale that are hard to find in the shops and restaurants in the cities. Shopping at a floating market is a very popular activity for locals, so you will want to arrive early in the morning to beat the crowds. Don’t miss out on this unique activity because floating markets are becoming rare and can only be found in a few Asian countries.
