See the Mapparium

When you walk into The Mapparium for the first time, you will be amazed by the work and detail that has gone into its construction. Built in 1908, this stain glass globe will give you an inside look at the world as you watch its ten minute video presentation.
One of the unintended features of the globe is the acoustics due to its shape. When you are speaking near the center of the room, it amplifies your voice due to the curved glass walls that do not absorb sound. Rooms like this are also known as “whispering galleries”.
