Sapa Terraces

The terraced rice fields are some of the most beautiful in Asia. Not only is the fertile soil of the steep mountain slopes good for growing rice but it is believed that some species of flowers that grow here are immortal and will live forever. This area also has more than 200 ancient engravings carved in the boulders of stone on the hillsides. Sapa Terraces is located in the highest mountains in Vietnam and it is one of the few areas that gets snow during their colder seasons of the year.
