Ice Hotel at LumiLinna

This is one of the oldest running ice hotels in the world and during the Arctic winter, you can stay in one of the 21 rooms in the Snow Castle. They even have a honeymoon suite. When you get hungry, stop in at the ice restaurant that serves local fare like reindeer meat and Lappish cheeses. Even if you aren’t staying overnight, you can spend the day enjoying the incredible ice art, live music on the snow stage and tubing down a giant ice slide. Every year, as the weather warms and summer arrives, the ice complex slowly melts into the nearby river. Then like clockwork when the temperatures dip below freezing, construction begins and it takes about six weeks to rebuild.
