Ice Climbing
The activity of ascending inclined ice formations is known as ice climbing. Usually, ice climbing refers to roped and protected climbing of features such as icefalls, frozen waterfalls, cliffs and rock slabs covered with ice refrozen from flows of water. Strap spiky crampons on your feet and a helmet on your head and grab an ice axe so you can peer into deep crevasses and check out massive waterfalls cascading from the ancient ice flowing from Alaska’s tallest peaks. For an even more extreme adventure, take a helicopter ride to access remote glaciers.
