Camel Trek Through the Sahara Desert
Everyone should experience the mystery and thrills of a memorable adventure in the Sahara desert, at least once in their lifetime. It is the largest hot desert in the world and covers an area about the size of China. There is a lot of sand but there are also barren mountains, dry valleys, salt flats and lots of sand dunes, some as high as 525 feet. You could hire a guide to take you on a one hour camel ride but if you want the ultimate experience, schedule a multi-day camel trek through the Sahara where you can also see Erg Chebbi, the largest area of shifting sand in the country. It is a journey well worth the effort and you will create memories unlike any other trip you have ever experienced.
Imagine yourself on top a camel, your “ship of the desert”, swaying back and forth to its meandering gait as you trek across golden dunes as part of a tour guide led camel caravan. There is nothing around you and all you can hear are the steady footsteps of the camel caravan on the soft sand. If you close your eyes, you can imagine you have stepped back in time into an ancient world that existed thousands of years ago.
During the evening, you will enjoy being part of a tent camp for the night. Your guides will provide a delicious traditional dinner with entertaining music and dancing. Your sleeping accommodations will be a tent with soft bedding or you can sleep outside your tent, under the stars. The sky is vast and clear in the day and filled with millions of bright stars at night. It is a very peaceful experience, one raley known to most of the Western World.
