Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum
Started in 2012, this is one of Boston’s newest attractions on the waterfront. The Battle of Lexington was one of the first battles of the Civil War and dumping the tea into the harbor was the final act of defiance that led to the start of the Civil War. This museum is especially hands on and designed with the curious in mind. Kids will enjoy the interactive exhibits and displays.
Then head outside to watch as live actors take you from the speech in the meeting house to the replica ship “The Beaver”, one of the three tall ships that staged the Dumping of the Tea. Actors stay in character as you witness a pivotal moment in history.
