Attend the High Heel Church

This building sits on a concrete disc in Ocean View Park. The church was meant to honor a local girl who decades ago contracted Blackfoot disease. Due to complications from the disease, she had to have her foot amputated. Before this happened, she was happy and engaged to be married to a very wealthy man. All of this started a downward spiral of events that led to him ending the engagement and her family sending her to work in a church the rest of her life. This church stands as a monument to her tragic tale.
